Shelf/Table Systems
Sometimes the simplest solution is the best. A shelf/table system is a simple way to add quality sound to any room—at home or even at work. These systems are compact, easy to set up and usually quite affordable. So if you’re looking to add music in the bedroom, talk radio in the kitchen, or sports in the garage, a shelf/table system just might be the ticket.

All-in-one simplicity
A shelf-table system comes packaged as a complete system. They usually include speakers (usually separate stereo speakers, but occasionally the speakers are built in), an AM/FM radio, a CD player, and most of the time an iPod connection or docking station. This makes shelf/table systems very easy to purchase, just make sure it has everything you want (and nothing you don’t want) and that it has a good sound. The most expensive shelf/table systems definitely sound a lot better, usually because the included speakers are of much high quality and the amplifier produces more power. Like all entertainment systems, you pretty much get what you pay for.

iPod convenience
In addition to the traditional audio sources such as a CD player and radio, most shelf/table systems are equipped with a way to connect and play an iPod. The type of iPod connection does vary, and based on how you want to use the system, will determine which system is best for you. Some shelf systems have a simple wire that connects to the iPod, allowing the sound to play through the system. Others have more convenient docking stations that also keep the battery charged—something that can be very handy for extending listening sessions. An Ovation expert can walk you through the features of the different systems we sell, so you’ll know just what to expect.

Popular uses
Over the years, Ovation has sold lots of shelf/table systems. One of the most common uses is for a bedroom. On a nightstand, dresser, or in an armoire, a bedroom shelf/table system can be both a relaxing late night companion, and a rousing morning getter-upper.

The kitchen is another popular spot for a shelf/table system. Since everyone seems to gravitate towards the kitchen, especially when entertaining, it certainly makes sense to have some sort of sound system. And since space is usually at a premium, a shelf/table system is usually ideal.

But our number-one, most popular application for shelf/table systems is for the office. On a bookshelf, desktop, or tabletop, you’ll have easy, convenient access to your favorite music, news, talk, and sports throughout the workday. Since we spend the majority of our waking hours at work, we might as well enjoy them.
